***SECOND TROPICAL DEPRESSION OF THE ATLANTIC SEASON FORMS OVER THE WESTERN GULF OF MEXICO...EXPECTED TO BRING RAINS TO SOUTHERN TEXAS AND NORTHEASTERN MEXICO ***
At 4:00 a.m. the centre of Tropical Depression #2 was located near latitude 24.8 degrees north and longitude 95.2 degrees west or about 285 kilometres east-northeast of La Pesca, Mexico.
Tropical Depression #2 is moving toward the northwest near 22 km/hr and this general motion is expected to continue for the next 24 hours. On the forecast track, the tropical cyclone is expected to move inland near the Texas-Mexico border later today.
Maximum sustained winds are near 55 km/hr, with higher gusts. There is a possibility that the Depression becomes a tropical storm before moving inland.
Tropical Depression #2 is not a threat to Jamaica.
The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the progress of this system.
