FLASH FLOOD WATCH DISCONTINUED FOR NORTHERN AND SOUTHEASTERN PARISHES.
The Meteorological Service has lifted the Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of Hanover, St. James, Trelawny, St. Ann, St. Mary, Portland and St. Thomas with immediate effect.
A strong Cold Front just east of Jamaica is expected to continue influencing weather conditions across the island today, tonight and tomorrow. Radar reports and satellite imagery indicated a significant reduction in showers over sections of northern parishes today.
While reduced rainfall is expected tonight and tomorrow; significantly cooler than normal temperatures are expected as the Cold Front lingers east of Jamaica. However an increase in rainfall activity is again expected on Wednesday and Thursday over mainly eastern parishes. Throughout this period windy conditions should continue over northern parishes.
Fishers and other marine interests are advised to exercise caution, as gusty winds and rough seas are expected over mainly northern waters.
The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the situation.
