...*** FLASH FLOOD WATCH ***..

***FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUED FOR EASTERN AND SOUTH-CENTRAL PARISHES***

The Meteorological Service has:
• Continued the Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of Portland, St. Mary, Kingston and St. Andrew and St. Catherine.
• Effective until 5:00 p.m. today.
• The Trough system across Jamaica and the southwestern Caribbean Sea continues to produce unstable weather conditions across the island.

• Although satellite imagery and rainfall reports indicated reduced rainfall last night throughout this morning, the forecast is for mostly cloudy conditions with periods of showers and thunderstorms to continue to affect sections of most parishes today especially during the afternoon. Flash flooding is therefore possible over some low-lying and flood prone areas.

• A FLASH FLOOD WATCH means that flash flooding is possible and residents are advised to take precautionary measures, keep informed by listening to further releases from the Meteorological Service and be ready for quick action if flooding is observed or if a Warning is issued.

The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the situation.
