*** FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FOR ALL PARISHES, FLASH FLOOD WARNING DISCONTINUED ***

The Meteorological Service has:

• Discontinued the Flash Flood Warning for low-lying and flood-prone
areas of St. Catherine, Clarendon and Manchester.

• Extended the Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas
of all parishes.

• Effective until 5:00 p.m. today.

• An area of low pressure across the western Caribbean continues
to influence weather conditions across the island. Satellite
imagery and rainfall data indicate that rainfall activity occurred
over sections of the island but mainly over offshore areas through
last night.

• The forecast is for this area of low pressure to drift
northwestward over the next few days. Mostly cloudy conditions, with
periods of showers and thunderstorms, which may be heavy at times,
along with gusty winds, are to affect the island today through to
Saturday.

• Fishers and other marine interests are advised to exercise caution
over offshore areas of the south coast in particular, due to strong
winds and rough seas in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH means that flash flooding is possible and
residents are advised to take precautionary measures, keep informed
by listening to further releases from the Meteorological Service and
be ready for quick action if flooding is observed or if a Warning is
issued.

The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the situation.
