*** ...DEBBY BEGINNING TO ACCELERATE NORTHEASTWARD OVER THE COLD WATERS OF THE FAR NORTH ATLANTIC...***

At 4:00 a.m. the centre of Tropical Storm Debby was located near latitude 43.6 North,
longitude 45.1 West or 1640 km west northwest of the Azores. Debby is moving toward the
northeast near 28 km/h, and this motion with a further increase in forward speed is expected
until the storm dissipates in another day or so.

Maximum sustained winds are near 75 km/h with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is forecast,
and Debby could become an extratropical cyclone this afternoon or evening before dissipating
on Friday.

Tropical Storm Debby is not a threat to Jamaica.

The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor this system.
