*** FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS EFFECT FOR WESTERN PARISHES***

The Meteorological Service has extended:
• A Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of Westmoreland, Hanover, St. James, Trelawny and St. Elizabeth.
• Effective until 5:00 a.m. tomorrow.
• A Trough system across the western Caribbean continues to produce unstable weather conditions west of the island.

• Satellite imagery and recorded rainfall reports indicated that light to moderate showers affected sections of western parishes throughout the day.

• The forecast is for light to moderate, and at times heavy showers and isolated thundershowers across sections of western parishes tonight into Thursday. Flash flooding is therefore a possibility over low-lying and flood-prone areas of western parishes.

• A FLASH FLOOD WATCH means that flash flooding is possible and residents are advised to take precautionary measures, keep informed by listening to further releases from the Meteorological Service and be ready for quick action if flooding is observed or if a Warning is issued.

The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the situation.
