A persistent Trough across Jamaica and the central Caribbean is expected to produce increased rainfall across the island this afternoon through to Saturday.

Expect periods of showers and thunderstorms which may be heavy at times mainly across central and western parishes.

The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the situation.
