*** HEAVY RAINFALL THREAT TODAY IN THE ABC ISLANDS FROM HARVEY***

At 4:00 AM, the center of Tropical Storm Harvey was
located near latitude 13.8 degrees North and longitude 65.9 degrees West or 375 km
East Northeast of Curacao. Harvey is moving toward the west near 33 km/h and
this general motion is expected for the next couple of days. On the forecast
track, the center of Harvey will move across the eastern and central
Caribbean Sea over the weekend.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 65 km/h with higher
gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours.

Although the centre of Tropical Storm Harvey is forecast to pass south of Jamaica, the island is expected to experience cloudy conditions with showers and thunderstorms mainly on Sunday and Monday. Windy conditions are also expected over mainly southern parishes on Sunday through Monday.

Marine interests, especially small craft operators who are in-port are advised not to venture out and those on the cays and banks south of Jamaica are advised to remain in safe harbour and exercise extreme caution as Tropical Storm Harvey traverses the waters south of Jamaica.

Tropical Storm Harvey is not a direct threat to Jamaica at this time.

The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor this system.
