*** INCREASED RAINFALL AND STRONGER WINDS EXPECTED THIS WEEKEND***

A developing area of low pressure across the western Caribbean is expected to induce a Trough west of Jamaica tonight. The Trough is expected to linger in the vicinity of the island through to Sunday. As a result, atmospheric conditions are expected to become less stable, and deteriorating weather conditions are expected across sections of the island starting tomorrow morning.

Current projections are for periods of light to moderate showers, which could be heavy at times, and thunderstorms to affect sections of most parishes tomorrow through to Sunday evening. In addition, windy conditions are expected across the island starting on Saturday.

Fishers and other marine interests are advised to exercise caution, as gusty winds and rough seas are likely in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms.

The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the situation.
