****ARLENE MOVING QUICKLY WESTWARD OVER THE OPEN ATLANTIC... ...STILL EXPECTED TO DISSIPATE LATER TODAY***

At 4:00 a.m. the centre of Tropical Storm Arlene was located near Latitude 40.0 degrees north and Longitude 48.0 degrees west or about 1825 km west-northwest of the Azores.

Arlene is moving toward the west near 50 km/h (31 mph) and this general motion is expected to continue today.

Maximum sustained winds are near 85 km/h (50 mph) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is expected, and Arlene is forecast to become absorbed by a large extratropical low and dissipate later today.

Tropical Storm Arlene is not a threat to Jamaica.
