NEWS RELEASE:SUB-TROPICAL DEPRESSION
*** SUBTROPICAL DEPRESSION ONE FORMS IN THE CENTRAL ATLANTIC THIS MORNING……EXPECTED TO DISSIPATE BY THURSDAY ***
At 5:00 p.m. the centre of Sub -Tropical Depression One was located near Latitude 32.4 degrees north and Longitude 40.0 degrees west or about 1335 km west-southwest of the Azores.
Sub-Tropical Depression One is moving toward the north near 19 km/h (12 mph). This motion is expected to continue tonight and early Thursday.
Maximum sustained winds remain near 55 km/h (35 mph) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is anticipated tonight, and the sub-tropical depression is forecast to become absorbed by an approaching extratropical low on Thursday.
Sub-Tropical Depression One is not a threat to Jamaica.
